AS a car lover, and BMW enthusiast, I cant express how much I love this shop. From the professional workmanship, to the way the mechanics, sales/ online rep (Charles) to the owner (Karl Troy) treated me with respect. I just cant brag enough about this shop. I've never done any reviews for places I have frequented before, but I feel it is my duty to share my delight with the world. If you own ANY EUROPEAN CAR and fell the dealer is too expensive or you just want another professional opinion, bring your car here. I guarantee you wont be disappointed. They treated my 2008 BMW 535I like it was there own, and while i was waiting for work to be done, Charles showed me some photos from their grand opening which i missed due to a deployment. I drove from Beaufort,SC to Charleston b/c a fellow BMW owner I had to go see them. He was NOT wrong. Thanks Guys @ EUROPEAN ROAD & RACING.
Excellent, couldn't get any better....
I would not consider taking my vehicle to anyone else. European Road & Racing continues to provide quality service and a warm and friendly atmosphere.
All work was done on time and on budget. Karl and staff were very helpful in working out a continuing preventive maintenance plan for my car. Joe Carastro
Karl and the staff at European Road & Racing are fantastic! I drove down from Charlotte to have several items addressed on my BMW. They made a quick and accurate assessment of the work and gave me a call with the estimate shortly after they started. With my approval, they got started and had me finished by the end of the day! A lot of work done in one day, and professionally completed and buttoned up! Well worth the trip and fantastic people. Don't hesitate to bring your daily driver or your prized show car to Karl and his amazing staff! I will come back any time I can...
As per normal, Karl Troy and his crew provide the highest quality repairs with exemplary customer care and service; a lost art in my opinion. Suffice it to say you never receive the infamous 'Rick Hendrick Experience' at European Road and Racing!
Great customer service, prompt, and competent. Don't go anywhere else for service needs on your European car.
Great experience from top to bottom.
Karl and his brother have not only the mechanical brilliance to work on complicated European automotive systems, but know how to run a business.. After using several other local shops I felt most confident and comfortable with Karl and his carefully chosen employees to work on my Mercedes V12. . They are held accountable if there is a problem with work and the issue is resolved promptly. There are others that are good, but European Road Racing is the best in Charleston for European cars.
By far the best place I have ever taken my BMW 530. I literally drove in off the street and Karl the owner took care of me from the get go! He never tried to sell me something ridiculous, just took care of my car like i was his own family. Ps my car has never been better! Thanks so much!
ya'll did a great job....front office guy was nice.....kept me informed about what needed to be done....great job...thanks....
My Audi first met Karl and the crew at European Road and Racing 4 years ago when I had an emergency car issue while visiting Charleston from Vermont. Karl got me into the shop right away, fixed the problem and got me out the door at a more than fair price. The following year I blew a turbo on the trip to Charleston on a Friday night. Called Karl from someplace in New York state, talked through the problem, and decided it was okay to continue the 900 miles to Charleston. He ordered the parts on Sunday night and had me in the shop Monday morning. Job was finished by Friday noon when I had to leave to return to Vermont. Car never ran better. (He was able to do a little power increase at the same time, :-) ) Last year 's trip required a little brake job. No problems. This is the first year we're not making the trip. My Audi misses Karl. And, you will not find a nicer (or funnier) person. I met him through a bad car experience, but I am proud to say we have become friends. You cannot go wrong at European Road and Racing, whether you drive a Ferrari or a VW.
Karl is awesome. The perfect combo of knowledge, personality, and a true love for the cars. Thanks for all the extra time you spent chatting on the phone.
This is the best place to take your vintage, high performance or just simply treasured car to receive professional, experienced and reliable service. Everyone is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I recommend this shop highly. Karl and his team are great to work with and deliver high quality service. Thanks guys!
They agreed to work me in last minute before a road trip when everyone else failed to fix my wheel bearing. I have an Audi (not the easiest to work on) and I am a female - this combination, around an auto shop, usually spells disaster. Karl took the time to educate me (without speaking down to me), the mechanic working on my car brought in the busted bearing to show me what was wrong (NEVER have I ever had anyone do this without requesting it). The education alone is worth the price of the labor - and being able to see the busted parts lets you know they aren't just trying to pull one over on you. So relieved to find knowledgeable, legit mechanics!
Karl Troy truly goes 10 steps above and beyond servicing his customers. He is honest and passionate. When you speak with him for a few minutes, you realize that you have found a mechanic for life. He is "the guy." Karl treats my Porsche Cayman as if it were his own. He was recommended by several Porsche and BMW enthusiasts. I couldn't recommend enough.
Excellent service and knowledgeable staff. I have had several things done on my '96 3-series, ranging from an oil change to replacing the water pump. Every time the customer service was great and the work done in a timely manner. Definitely recommended ER&R.
Thank you Mr. Karl for always coming through for me. You and your crew never let me down
