From the professional workmanship, to the way the mechanics, sales/ online rep (Charles) to the owner (Karl Troy) treated me with respect. I just cant brag enough about this shop. I've never done any reviews for places I have frequented before, but I feel it is my duty to share my delight with the world. If you own ANY EUROPEAN CAR and fell the dealer is too expensive or you just want another professional opinion, bring your car here. I guarantee you wont be disappointed. They treated my 2008 BMW 535I like it was there own, and while i was waiting for work to be done, Charles showed me some photos from their grand opening which i missed due to a deployment. I drove from Beaufort,SC to Charleston b/c a fellow BMW owner I had to go see them. He was NOT wrong. Thanks Guys @ EUROPEAN ROAD & RACING.

Karl and his brother have not only the mechanical brilliance to work on complicated European automotive systems, but know how to run a business.. After using several other local shops I felt most confident and comfortable with Karl and his carefully chosen employees to work on my Mercedes V12. . They are held accountable if there is a problem with work and the issue is resolved promptly. There are others that are good, but European Road Racing is the best in Charleston for European cars.

My Audi first met Karl and the crew at European Road and Racing 4 years ago when I had an emergency car issue while visiting Charleston from Vermont. Karl got me into the shop right away, fixed the problem and got me out the door at a more than fair price. The following year I blew a turbo on the trip to Charleston on a Friday night. Called Karl from someplace in New York state, talked through the problem, and decided it was okay to continue the 900 miles to Charleston. He ordered the parts on Sunday night and had me in the shop Monday morning. Job was finished by Friday noon when I had to leave to return to Vermont. Car never ran better. (He was able to do a little power increase at the same time, :-) ) Last year 's trip required a little brake job. No problems. This is the first year we're not making the trip. My Audi misses Karl. And, you will not find a nicer (or funnier) person. I met him through a bad car experience, but I am proud to say we have become friends. You cannot go wrong at European Road and Racing, whether you drive a Ferrari or a VW.

They agreed to work me in last minute before a road trip when everyone else failed to fix my wheel bearing. I have an Audi (not the easiest to work on) and I am a female - this combination, around an auto shop, usually spells disaster. Karl took the time to educate me (without speaking down to me), the mechanic working on my car brought in the busted bearing to show me what was wrong (NEVER have I ever had anyone do this without requesting it). The education alone is worth the price of the labor - and being able to see the busted parts lets you know they aren't just trying to pull one over on you. So relieved to find knowledgeable, legit mechanics!
